The real secret to reaching your goals isn’t found in motivation or inspiration. It doesn’t come from restriction or deprivation. And it’s not about pushing yourself past your limits. It’s about consistency. Too often, we set unrealistic or unsustainable goals and then give up entirely when we fall short. But the goal was never perfection, it’s persistence. If your goal is to walk an hour every day, that’s great! But on days when that’s not possible, five or ten minutes is still success. What matters is that you keep the habit alive. The amount of time isn’t what builds change… the repetition is. Consistency doesn’t require perfection; it just requires showing up. Perfection is the “all or nothing” mindset. Consistency is “all or something.” Perfection is rigid, consistency is flexible. Perfection is unforgiving, consistency is gracious. Perfection procrastinates, consistency acts. So focus less on how much time or effort each day takes and more on showing up regularly. It’s the daily repetition of small, simple actions that creates lasting change more than the perfect execution of those habits. The things that transform your life usually aren’t glamorous or exciting… they’re steady, ordinary, and repeated. Consistency may be boring at times, but the life you’ll build through it will be anything but. One thing that’s helped me stay consistent is lowering the pressure. I don’t ask myself, “Can I do this perfectly like I planned?” anymore. I ask, “What’s one small thing I can do today to stay aligned with my goal?” The smaller the step, the easier it is to follow through. And those little moments of showing up are what build the kind of consistency that actually changes your life. 💜
I mean… that’s what it looks like to me…
