OMG! This happened to my friend and I in Qatar, but it was a man who we followed on the long walk. We almost turned around and walked away but we kept following him. We ended up in knock-off designer bag heaven. We each bought so many purses from him, he gave us free Jimmy Choo and Louis Vuitton wallets. I still have them.
