this is hilarious that people are makyit sound like this is some major issue. how about modernize and use digital payment as a standard like every other country that has no pennies. you need to get rid of these 3rd party cash app and get a central payment processor that all the banks work with. plus rounding isn't that difficult $0.01-0.02 round down $0.03-0.04 round up, $0.06-0.07 round down, $0.08-0.09 round up. its bot rocket science

typical liberal media making a scare tactic of the coin going away despite there being legislation that says EXACTLY how transactions will work once its phased out. cash transactions are rounded to nearest 5 cents, up or down. electronic transactions remain exact price. it calls out exactly when it is required to round up vs down, so its not up to companies to decide which way. it will be law.
