If the car doesn’t recognize the roof as closed, they windows won’t go up the last bit when closing the doors. Also when normalizing the windows, the

Sounds like the roof is "mid operation" try a manual close procedure and then see if the roof light goes out. The windows might start working again

My 2008 VW convertible had an incorrect ampage battery (60 AH) last year and I had the same window issue. The window started closing after I got the correct battery (62 AH) connected.

Sounds like the windows need confirmation that the roof is closed all the way. The windows wont reset until the sensor shows the roof is locked out closed.

Door window possibly needs to be reset. Up, down, hold button up I think. And hard top might be the sensor on the windshield post not contacting.

both modules toasted. Easy fix just get new modules. I had so many coupes convertibles its always the controler. E36 bmw for example does not have door modules it has body control module thats responsible for it so that has to be changed. But merc should have on the doors theyr modules

There’s a safety in the trunk. It’s like the wind screen has to be locked in place for the roof to work properly and the windows will then work

Could the issue be related to the roof not working? Maybe fixing the roof problem will fix the window? 🤷🏻♂️

I had an Audi TT that had a very similar issue. The problem was the comfort control module got rained on when the convertible top leaked.

too bad you can't roll up the window and pull the power out of the switch and trap it in position. that window is too fancy

Try a light film of vaseline on the seals. Maybe the window needs too much force, so needed amperage is to high and causes "object stuck safety feature" to work🤷🏼♂️

Pop the panels off, unplug the motors and add direct power to the motor to make it go up to see if it'll hold. It should since there won't be a loop in the system to feed the downward feed of the motor
