Please know the signs of bloat and please if you have large breeds, do everything you can to prevent it. I didn’t catch it in time and now, I’ve lost my SD… Greta was a dog I took in because of aggression towards other dogs. She would attack randomly in the home, but never in public. We trained, we trained, and we trained some more. We got her to a point where the most naughty thing she ever did was get in the refrigerator the moment she was left unsupervised. She even figured out how to open the oven. She quickly became an extremely well behaved dog that I was able to teach to help with stability and cardiac alert. She took to it like she already knew what was going on. Greta was the dog that had a vest on that said “DO NOT PET” in big bold letters but we always let kids pet her because I never wanted a child to be fearful of a large dog. She loved babies, snuggles, and taking up the entire sofa. She didn’t play fetch but she loved tug and trotting around a field, bounding through grass was one of her favorite things. We dressed her up like a cow for the renissance fair. She knew just about every employee at the Hamburg Cabelas and was happily mobbed by the Girl Scout troops frantically asking a million questions about how big she is, her job, and why she was so calm and sweet… Greta was too big to fit in my Ford Ranger and was the reason I bought an SUV… My heart is extremely heavy and I probably won’t be on here for a few days. #greatdane #bloat #bloatindogs #sd
