They have a salary range and they know what they can pay so they should be the ones to tell you the range for the position you are applying to. If they don’t disclose a range and just ask, “What are your salary expectations?” You should answer their question with a question. “What is the salary range of the position?” 2️⃣ Do NOT tell them your current salary. Did you know that in 22 states there are salary history bans? bans? It is illegal for companies to ask you what you’re currently making. Before your job search you need to do a lil research and figure out the laws in your city and state. **Mentioning your salary first can limit your negotiating power and it’s none of their business especially if you are underpaid in your current job. 1️⃣ Do your research and give a range. A job is NOT just about a salary, in fact, a salary is only 70% of your compensation. There are lots of other perks and bonuses and not to mention the work itself. Before you go into your next job interview, do some research on what companies are paying for your role/skill set.
