I mean you literally started with “most concerning I’ve ever seen” so the example is right there.

how do they determine which lexical items count as "rational" and which ones count as "irrational"/"emotional"? I'm not saying the data doesn't make sense, but the collection of it seems questionable

Rationality in language was over represented during modernism because every modernist confused their feelings and beliefs with rationally arrived at logical conclusions and wrote about it that way. The willingness to accept perception and bias exists is what birthed post-modernism which then dominated the 80s.

Does this relate to the beetles? cuz wasn't there a sexual revolution in the 60's? idk if 1:30 AM is a good time to recal all this, but anywho. like we all know girls of every generation fangirl, and is very normal, but in the 60's it was televised or something. Expression got more rampant, shown, shown subtly that "you can be to!".
and kennedy had a sister who suffered from the effects of a lobotomy and he passed mental health laws before he got 💀 (which kinda directly relates to modern day homelessness thanks to the stigmas of back then saying essentially we should give up on it, then we got Reagan and ugh). So there were pushes to have people be more open about mental health back then. aka more expressive which is usually stigmatized and questionable in its own right in many cases. Even to this day "You aren't happy? What's wrong with you?" is still a thought influenced by mental health stigma people have to do this day as a leftover back from when meds were still being tested and divorces still were relatively new. or maybe non existent.... I forget but full house (the 90's show) reflected that fear of making a life with a single parent or something.... the details are hazy cuz history always blends.
but is the word feel political? (considering Kennedy I hope so) but this feels like it's more about people becoming more expressive and not having emotional regulation tools in their arsenal than more intense language in politics which undebatably increased in trump's presidency.

Access to information is inversely correlated with respect for intelligence (which is the ability to understand, retain, and explain information). There has been a stunning cultural shift in my lifetime. Emotion is our least common denominator and the new coin of the realm…
