Do not eat those cookies. I know other people have said it already, but it bears repeating. plastics put out poisonous gases when they heat up and get close to melting. The fact that it was already actually melting, means those cookies have a bunch of toxins in them. Do not eat those cookies.

Whew my SIL accidentally melted a bowl and it took almost a month and hella cleaning to finally get the plastic and smell completely out! 😩 We can finally use our oven again. Just try to clean off as much plastic as possible first, then put the oven on the self clean mode, scrape some more and scrub with a mix of warm water and baking soda. We did that twice and it worked. It took a month cause we were busy af and couldn’t focus just on it.
