For my salary, I will lose 14k if I take 8 weeks of maternity leave on STD unless I use all of my vacation, which will then leave me with none for the year. 🙂 have kids they say.

FYI some employers will still treat pre-birth, pregnancy-related “disability” as part of your parental leave and not let you use your separate ST disability. So they start the clock on your X number of weeks (if you get that) before the birth.

quick note that in my case I have to be enrolled for 12 straight months BEFORE I can claim for it, so enrolling now for a 2027 pregnancy is smart
