It’s often overload, not just “growing pains.” When kids grow quickly, bones lengthen faster than muscles and tendons can adapt. Add high training loads, and tissues around the knees and heels get tight and irritated. 🏋️♂️ 2. Strength is medicine. Simple bodyweight work — squats, calf raises, glute bridges, wall sits — builds the stability those growing joints desperately need. 3–4 short sessions a week works wonders. 🧍♀️ 3. Don’t mistake recovery for doing nothing. They don’t always need full rest — just less impact. Replace matches and sprints with bike, swimming, or strength work that keeps them moving without flaring pain. 🧠 4. Isometrics can reduce pain and build resilience. Holding controlled static positions (like a 45s wall sit or slow calf raise hold) helps switch off pain and strengthen the area safely. 😴 5. Load management beats total rest. Plan rest days and lighter weeks — let the body adapt instead of breaking down. 🩺 6. If pain sticks around or worsens, get it checked. A sports physio or doctor can rule out anything more serious and guide a safe return. 💡 Don’t pull them out of sport too soon — adapt, strengthen, recover.
