@cjnlegalnurse: 11/17/25 This happened at Franciscan Health Crown Point in Crown Point, Indiana. A Black mother in visible pain was discharged, and eight minutes later she gave birth in the car. This cannot keep happening. #MaternalHealth #BlackMothersMatter #HealthJustice #tiktokpartner #fyp
Mexican mama here. When I went to give birth to my son, I told the nurses I was in labor and they didn’t believe me and asked me to pull my pants down in the bathroom to prove what was happening. Women should never be treated this way.

They claimed she was only 3cm. You know what else is about 3cm? The fontanelle of a newborn. I’d be willing to bet that their cervical exams were so incompetent that what they thought was here cervix may have actually been the baby’s soft spot

These 2 cases this week are the ones caught on camera this week. Imagine what hasn’t been caught on camera this year alone.

I actually I’m thankful for the internet because somehow they don’t believe us when we say we are mistreated- now try to deny it!! Infuriating 😡

I’m a white woman, but I’m tired of the racism in the healthcare field and every where else. Do better and evolve! Women of any color should not have to suffer!!!

This is not a color thing. When I was in labor this happened to me too. I arrived at the hospital and they told me to come back later because I was only a little bit dilated and it was going to be "hours". My girl came 20 mins later. People in the medical field need to understand that all women's pregnancies are different. Not all women have the same contractions either!! For none of my pregnancies did timing the contractions matter, it was all sporadic.

I’m not a nurse but you can clearly see she is in labor… grimace, grunting and struggling through the contractions. I can’t even imagine her pain. She was so humble and sweet through her pain, but they disregarded her. The other young lady was loud screaming through the pain and they still disregarded her…

ob's are quick to send women in pain home because they changed the active definition to admit at 6cm and it is detrimental! it's pain that should be looked at not just a 3 cm cervix. come on it is time to change this thought and help women out!

Cervical measurements are misleading and she deserved to feel NO pain. This should have been a moment that she felt peace. She was robbed.

I went from a 3 to a 10 in 30 seconds with my second child. Even though I was in a hospital for my third and didn’t have an epidural, nurses dismissed my when I knew he was coming. I was in transition and the nurse kept waiving me off saying “I just checked you, you’re only at an 8” she left, I rolled over to my back and he was born. I was all alone in my room and had to catch him myself, he almost rolled off the bed. L&D nurses already ignore our needs as a baseline, I couldn’t imagine how much worse it is when we’re not white. This is disguising And causes death!

As a woman who has given birth 3 times and a postpartum nurse this absolutely BREAKS my heart. Mother and baby should be monitored and checked no matter what…

If your active labor(screaming/hollering/physical display of distress) does NOT fit their narrative then it isn’t happening smh ! Her strength is unbelievable and instead of being protected by the facility that should have protected her during her most vulnerable time she was turned away! Shame on the hospital!

I’m so sorry this happened to her (anyone). I can’t wrap my head around this because I was not taught, yes TAUGHT racism. Sometimes you can progress quickly, but you can’t see the pain she was in. People have to do better!!!
