We use to have family meetings to discuss things we didn't agree on with our parents .. growing up it seemed excessive but my mom allowed us to disagree & discuss our feelings. But we were disciplined

PSA for the people who swear gentle parenting doesn’t work: kind and firm is literally just another name for gentle parenting which is literally just another name for authoritative parenting (which is very different from authoritarian parenting)

I’d say no warmth we use a talking stick in my house that to prevent me from over talking and lecturing everyone and give them a chance to speak then I can respond

Equally both of they are never taught healthy boundaries they grow up either making bad decisions or afraid of making bad decisions. If they're shown no warmth they become cold hearted, lacking understanding, and having a lack of love

Girl I wish there was a dashboard with a parenting grade cause I’m just trying my best at this point. I’m setting boundaries, asking nicely, giving warnings 🤣 she seem to be doing okay but I hear you don’t get your “parenting report card” and really see how you did raising them until they hit early 20s
