Yellow is actually a complimentary color to purple(her eye color), yellow is the best color for her she is energetic and optimistic and it does not contradict her maturity. Purple and blue would've washed her out where shes meant to stand out.

I think honestly, the point of her outfit choice is that since she always dresses casual, comfortable, and without thought. When it comes to actually dressing up she has no clue how to and goes by what she has seen most often and not what actually looks good on her
