So does no one defend or call out this behavior in the press room and or locker room when it’s happening? No media should cover him or the team until he reins it in. The spectators are just as culpable as the player. Ridiculous. I’m glad you have decided to take a stand.

I was a little kid and Mets fan and asked my dad to take me to a Dave Kingman apperance at Paramus Park mall in NJ. I was wearing my Mets shirt, hat, etc. We arrived and the line was really long and didn’t get to meet him. So we followed him after the event and I nervously approached him. I forget what Kingman said, but it was something like “don’t bother me, I’m not signing anything.” I never liked the guy after that.

He’s literally the only player with 400 career home runs that isn’t in the HOF. His final 3 seasons in Oakland had high offensive output but his batting average was awful. He didn’t even get a sniff at the HOF, lol.

met him once, my cuz worked for the Mets, I was meeting her in the Diamond club for dinner and drinks. he was in the bar, waiting for his driver. My cuz was behind him. I walked up to greet HER. He looks at me and starts yelling at me for making him wait. I was taken back, he thought I was his driver and was berating me.

As a kid watching batting practice trying to get an autograph, he never would be nice to us, sign anything. A lot of players were cool, Madlock,etc.
