could have slowed down a bit and signal so he could join in before it hit chaotic. there are unwritten rules in driving as well that's common sense.. in this case when you see a merging road coming you should switch to the middle lane ahead of time. you're not a robot

I've watched this a few times. Yes the van driver was driving badly, but you still could have slowed down a bit more as he was running out of space. Safety should always come first. Even if you are "in the right" safety should always come above your pride
