@mychal3ts: Help your child on their learn-to-read journey! 📚😊 Video Description: Mychal wonders if you or any of the readers in your life connect with reading by tracing alone with your finger, also known as finger tracking. He says, “THAT’S OKAY!” He brings out the @LeapFrog LeapReader system, helpful for early reading skills. The device can be used similarly to finger tracking, guiding you to use books to hear words read aloud, highlight them, sound out words, and even assists with spelling. He encourages and reminds you that you are a worthy LeapFrog reader ✨ #BookTok #LeapFrog #LFpartner #LeapIntoReading #Storytime

I am glad finger tracing is ok. I have had to track with my finger since I learned to read because my eyesight has always, always been not great. Also reading aloud to oneself to understand the beautiful writing. That should be thought of as a normal part of reading.

I need to finger track my reading. I tend to lose track, and drift over like 3 lines down if I don't. 🥀🥀🥀

As a child we were taught this in school, to stay on track of where we in the story as we read aloud in class.

I do that often when my ADHD is running on high. I don't need to do it all the time, but when there's distractions (external or in my brain) it helps! I really love that this tool exists and I really appreciate you sharing!

Sometimes I still do this…especially if I have to read something more than once to understand it. When I read I like to read out loud too. I have a masters degree but with adhd sometimes I read a paragraph and realize I wasn’t paying attention and have to reread. Idk if that makes sense.
