People are obsessed with buying multiple presents for everyone and posting photos online as if it's some sort of competition. Buy one present! Or none if you can't afford it. Don't spend money on loved ones, spend time with them!

I genuinely can't afford to buy gifts this year, I'm already in debt. I'm not going to make my debt any worse. I've explained this to my family, some were understanding and some didn't like it but getting rid of my financial stress comes first. maybe next year will be better...

Whole family stopped buying gifts 5 years ago. It was the best thing we ever did! So stressful every year having to think of what to buy 18 people! We all agreed to trial it and found it worked for us. We just buy gifts for the kids in the family, have a nice Christmas meal together and play games on Christmas Day. It’s such a relaxing Christmas every year now.
