Yes there is also the shut down that caused the problem. It says it put us behind 15+ years. There is more than just skills. Behavior and how serious the family takes education. Do not jump on the ai bandwagon. Many parents do not spend time with kids.

As a mother of three public school kids I will say one thing - you get what you put into it. I volunteered. The teacher knew me and my husband (who worked full time). Teachers knew that we supported them. I have a daughter who is an actuary, a son applying for medical school and a son graduating next month with his masters in accountancy. You get from the public school system what you as parents put into it.
