@sadchimichanga: Seriously, if you are looking to get a cat—consider adoption if you aren’t already. Cats are massively overpopulated. This means that millions of cats are homeless—living on the streets, in dumpsters, junkyards, and other unsafe environments, often dying prematurely due to preventable diseases, environmental dangers, wild animals, and humans. Shelters can only save a fraction of these animals, and they are already overflowing, which leads them to euthanize animals they can’t find homes for and don’t have the funds or space to support. Breeders are contributing to this overpopulation issue. Moreover, many artificial breeds inherently have serious genetically defined health problems—a result of selective breeding. In my personal opinion, purposely breeding animals that will definitely pass on health complications (e.g. munchkins) is not ethical. As a rescuer and shelter volunteer, I can tell you that you would be surprised how many British shorthairs, ragdolls, bengals, Siamese, and other 'fancy' breeds end up on the streets or in shelters alongside plain street tabbies—abandoned or neglected. So if you’re dead-set on a fancy breed, there are plenty of those in shelters, too, waiting to be loved again. That’s not to say that cats of these breeds are 'worse.' Of course not. They’re just as loving and deserving of love. But they will find homes. In fact, people will pay a lot of money to bring them home. And if that’s what you want to do, I won’t judge you or tell you that you’re wrong. But I do encourage you to give a chance to the cats that need it most. The cats that have never had a home, or those that have lost it. Especially consider the cats with the lowest adoption chances: seniors, disabled cats, special needs cats, bonded pairs… I promise that they will be forever thankful and they will show it by loving you back even harder. #adoptdontshop

no offense but i dont think special needs cats are for evergone, n they cost a lot more, need extra care, etc. They deserve love aswell however unless ur expierenced w cats idk if its a good idea to get a special needs one

i adopted my baby izumi, they ssid she was 12 weeks, but dident even have teeth when i got her, i was just 13 but i love her to death, she coulnt eat by herself so i hand feed her till she got her teeth, she stayd in my room for almost half a year bc she was scared to meet any of my parents or sister or any othern of our pets, she sleept with her nose burried in my neck, she still dose that sometimes and due to growing so close to me and sleeping by me every night, followd on vecation, meet my friends, traveld to my grandpa and step dad, she have sever separation problems, but i love my little izumi, shes 3 and this picture was taken 3 weeks ago🫶
