Growing up is appreciating Before Sunset, as much as I love Before Sunrise, the second movie is so timeless. The quotes are some of the best and you can resonate with it at age 25 or 75.

I get really sad when I remember that this movie is, in a way, based on a real story. The director met a girl named Amy in 1989 in Philadelphia. They spent the whole night walking and talking, just like in the film. After that, there were only a few phone calls before they lost contact. In 1995, he made Before Sunrise as a way of remembering that night, but deep down he had the same hope as the protagonist to find the girl he had talked to all night and fallen in love with. The director said he made the film partly in the hope that Amy would somehow hear about it (a parallel with the second movie). Amy didn’t show up to the premiere of Before Sunrise or Before Sunset. It wasn’t until 2010, while he was preparing Before Midnight, that a friend of Amy reached out to him to tell him that Amy had died in a motorcycle accident on May 9, 1994 just a few weeks before he began shooting Before Sunrise. She was only 24 years old.
