Crazy enough…this might be a reach. But I can still see someone’s hair curl pattern even through manipulation. A 4c twist out doesn’t look like a 3c/4a twist out. So I truly don’t know where she was going with this.

I wear mines. In an Afro , Afro puff, and twists. This lady told me “Not everybody can get away with wearing their hair like yours” I told her it’s because I love my hair and I don’t care what anyone else thinks.

Manipulation is inevitable when caring for any type of hair. It’s not a bad thing until it’s excessive, straining, and leading to increased damage. A twistout, Braidout, or wash n go is simply a style to help maintain curl pattern and diminish tangles or matting. Touching hair is not a problem until you overdo it!!

Manipulation is inevitable. If the parameters is wear your hair how it comes of your head then… detangling your hair would mean you are manipulating your curls too. Braid/ twist out only manipulate so far. At the end of the day your texture will show through the style regardless
