@taqifishing: This is a step-by-step how to get piper, using Hayabusa sabiki size 8, and Fisherman supply burley. First, put a piece of shrimp in the hook to give more scent. Second, drop down the Sabiki but not to the bottom. Third, deploy some burley down to bring the fish closer to us. Fourth, strike when you feel the slightest bite or see the piper hanging closer to the Sabiki. Let me know in the comment if you have another tip, please. Reel: Shimano Vanford C3000HG @Shimano Fishing New Zealand Sabiki: Hayabusa EX125 Size 8 Real Minnow @Monster Distribution @Big Bev Burley: @Fisherman Supply Co. You can get the Sabiki for 8 dollars at @monsterfishing as it is currently on discount for Black Friday #fishtok #fishingtips #howto #viral #fyp
Can attach a burley feeder float instead of a sinker to end of Sabiki rig to keep the hooks closer to the surface almost like a mini surface longline.

fisherman supply berley is my go to now. I just bought another couple of logs of the berley, abd a bottle of the fish oil. fantastic stuff and it really brings the fish in. ive used it toattract moki, trevally, and Jack mackerel in welly harbour.
I use a bait feeder cage when I'm using berley on a sabiki. it's a small cage that you clip to your sabiki, and stuff it full of berley. give it a few shakes and the berley distributes itself in a cloud around your sabiki. they're cheap on temu.

Decent Piper! I've seen a few good schools out on the whangaparoa peninsula if you're ever out there- try the cliff walk down from Duncansby road lookout, seem to swarm off the rocks there
