Club Physio or Private Clinic? It’s not competition — it’s collaboration 🤝 I’ve been on both sides. As a club therapist, you’re often managing 20+ players, juggling knocks and last-minute injuries before a big game — with maybe 15 minutes per player. It’s intense. Club physios and therapists are absolute heroes 👏 But sometimes, players need more than match-day management. That’s where private sports therapy clinics step in — not to take over, but to extend capacity. Recently, I’ve been working alongside club physios and team management who referred players needing deeper rehab — while they focused on keeping the rest of the squad ready. And the results spoke for themselves 👇 ✅ Grade 2 hamstring tear → 3x weekly rehab (something club physios rarely have time for) → back playing in 3.5 weeks ✅ Distal hamstring weakness & calf loading issue → full strength in 2 weeks ✅ Grade 2 plantar fascia tear → pain-free and playing while rehabbing While I managed the longer-term rehab with 45–60 min sessions, the club physio kept players game-ready. Everyone won. The difference comes down to: 💥 Time — we can spend hours, not minutes 💥 Chronic issues — rehab beyond match-day readiness 💥 Hands-on work — soft tissue techniques done properly 💥 Off-season focus — prevention & performance when things quieten down The key? Communication. When club physios and private clinics share updates, training loads, and return-to-play plans — players get the best of both worlds. Think of it this way 👇 🏥 Club physios = A&E + match-day heroes 💪 Private clinics = Specialist rehab & performance centres No competition. Just collaboration. Because when we work together, players win. #GAA #hurling #Rugby #Soccer
