i remember that this rule applies to phanes, no one is allowed to say the name of the primordial one and speak about heavenly principles, idk if this rule means the shades as well, but i do remember people calling shades with their names after natlan quests, there are also times when hoyo forgets some details said in old books/lore and change them

Its not been forbidden to say a shade’s name, the only example I can think of that would point to that was in Before Sun and Moon, in which the residents of Enkanomiya stated they refused to call Istaroth by her real name, to the point they wouldn’t even write it down. I don’t remember whether that was out of reverence or fear, though.

Shades just doesn't want you to mention name but it's not a rule per se, Also Ronova out of all the shades is the one cares the least about being mentioned, lord of the night mentioned it.

Nope it's not a big deal ronova's name was said countless times in natlan aq and Naberius was mentioned by albedo in the latest mond aq as for istorath she was mentioned by one of the raidens if I remember in inazuma the remaining is asmoday who was only mentioned in the shades trailer

Thanks for the reminder, guys. I completely forgot about the Natlan Archon Quest — I only remember them mentioning ‘the one who rules death,’ not ‘Ronova.’ I thought it would be similar to Istaroth in ‘Sun and Moon.’
