GALETTES DE SARRASIN Full Recipe ⬇️💕 As a girly who prefers salty over sweet food, I love love love savory crêpes (aka galettes de sarrasin). So when my French grandpa said he knows how to make them, I was STOKED and immediately asked him to teach meee! 😍 Enjoy the recipe y’all ✨ Ingredients - 125g Buckwheat Flour (Farine de Sarrasin) 300g Water 1 Egg 3g Salt 1 teaspoon Honey 20g Butter (+ extra butter to cook the crêpes in the pan) How to Cook - 1. Run the buckwheat flour through a sieve and into a bowl. 2. In a separate bowl, add the water, egg, salt and honey, and whisk it altogether. 3. In a small pan, melt the butter. Then add the melted butter into the water mix and whisk. 4. Bit by bit, add the water mix into the buckwheat flour bowl, whisking thoroughly. Once everything is well incorporated, cover the bowl with cling wrap and place it in the fridge for 24hrs. 5. The next day, take the galette batter out of the fridge, give it a quick whisk, set it to the side and let it come to room temperature for about 30-45min. (note: if your batter is too cold, it will make the crepes more fragile. So ROOM TEMP is KEY!!) 6. Heat up a crepes pan, and once it’s nice and hot, add in a knob of butter. Let it spread and melt across the pan, then add in about 1-1.5 ladles of galette batter in the pan. Make sure to spread the batter around the pan by twisting the pan around, then let it cook. Once the galette’s corners turn golden and crisp, carefully flip the galette (be EXTRA careful because the galette is quite fragile). Let the galette crisp up a little more on the other side, then take it off the heat. 7. Add the savoury fillings of your liking to the galette - cheese, ham, sunny side up egg, anything you want… and enjoy! #galettesdesarrasin #savorycrepes #crepes #frenchfood #EasyRecipe
