I swear kitchens and the appliances were SO much practical and waaay better back then. now appliances are purposely made like garbage with cheap parts to force ppl to keep replacing, driving company revenues. sucks.

I think modern kitchens are no longer built the way they used to be because earlier kitchens were designed for fresh foods and proper storage, and today this is intentionally avoided. When you look at what most people eat nowadays, it’s mostly industrially processed food. You don’t need a drawer for potatoes or other fresh produce anymore, because people just buy everything in powder form or frozen slices and things like that. I believe that’s the main reason, and I think it’s done on purpose — and people don’t even realize it. If they no longer have a drawer for fresh potatoes, they won’t buy fresh potatoes anymore.

Sinks should lap up the back so the taps actually sit in the sink so no water puddles behind taps. A hanging rack attached under sink for hanging pots which leaves room on bottom shelf for trays and pans. Pull out garbage and recycling bins that hide inside cupboards.
