@centeno_a77: CNN’s Abby Phillip repeatedly defends Democrats who instructed the military to disobey Trump. PHILLIP: "In this country, you do get to undermine the President of the United States." SCHILLING: "Not if you're in the military! He's the commander-in-chief!" PHILLIP: "No, no, no. No, no, no. If you are a member of Congress, you absolutely, in this country, have a free right to undermine the President of the United States." SCHILLING: "But they're calling on the military to undermine the commander-in-chief!"

They do not have to follow illegal orders. If they break the law they can be imprisoned.

The military is legally bound to disregard unlawful orders. That is the law if that undermines a felony president committing crimes damn straight, they better not obey those unlawful orders.

I was in the army. And OUR OATH tells us that we have the exact RIGHT to not follow unlawful orders. That means anything that goes against the Constitution or the law! There have been SEVERAL orders that have done BOTH!😡 We have the RIGHT TO DISOBEY!

So when the next democratic president issues illegal orders, I wonder if they will be in favor of those orders being followed 💯

You can disagree but to undermine the president is absolutely wrong. This is why people hate politicians. They do not have the people at the heart of their service. They always seem to flow as against the elected President of the other side at all costs. Never care for the people.

actually you have a duty to undermine the commander in chief if he gives an illegal or unconstitutional order

Abby Phillips is right. Our constitution is the law. The president and the military need to abide by our laws. And if he issues illegal orders, and you oblige, you go to jail.

The oath says:
I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same, that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
The key part is that last line. According to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice means you obey only lawful orders. The UCMJ makes it clear that service members have a duty to refuse unlawful orders. That requirement is explicit, and every branch teaches it in training..
