The comments hating. Sure it’s not a night and day difference but you actually get a sense of depth now. Id make the water slightly more transparent so you can see the ground a bit more and maybe add a bit of a parallax effect but this looks good

I don't know how it would work in pixel art but could you slap a noise texture on it, so you can procedurally change the contrast and size of the light and dark spots, so it doesn't take a thousand years
