@devinedwelling: Because of my food sensitivities, I have to avoid certain ingredients like oats. I have what’s commonly called a leaky gut, which basically means my gut lining is more irritated and permeable than it should be. When that lining gets inflamed, tiny food particles slip through and trigger bloating, gas, digestive upset, and inflammation, OH MY! For me, oats and a lot of high-FODMAP foods make it worse, so I stay away from them (sometimes I risk it and regret it 🤷♀️) — but my kids tolerate them totally fine. So I still make these granola bars for them, and I always prioritize whole foods. No weird stuff. Just real ingredients you can mix and match based on what your family likes. Ingredients Base (the essentials): • 1 cup almond butter (or any natural nut/seed butter) • ⅔ cup honey • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract • Heaping ½ teaspoon sea salt • 2½ cups whole rolled oats What I added to this batch: • ¼ cup shredded coconut • 1 tablespoon flaxseed powder • ⅛ cup hemp seeds Mix & match options: • Pepitas • Walnuts or pecans • Extra flaxseed • Shredded coconut • Hemp seeds • Mini chocolate chips • Crushed peanuts or cashews SAVE & SHARE with a friend ♥️ #granolabars #easysnackrecipe #kidssnack #wholefoods #leakygut
