@gigixmeow: Story time on how we got Gigi: My mom was fostering cats at the time and one of her clients asked for help with a stray who had been living at their warehouse. The owners didn’t want to feed her anymore because she had an accident on some papers. My mom, being the angel she is, took her in and named her Catalina while trying to find a rescue to help. After a few weeks, Catalina started getting bigger and bigger and my mom realized she was pregnant. She gave birth to 6 kittens at my mom’s house. Five were tabbies, and the last one born, the only white one, was Gigi. About 4 weeks later, Catalina became very sick. She developed mastitis, couldn’t nurse the babies and was eventually diagnosed with FIP. My mom had to bottle feed all the kittens around the clock. She even took them to work and fed them during her breaks and I would go help whenever I could. Because they didn’t have a mom, the kittens started suckling on each other’s bums for comfort and Gigi got sick and had blood in her stool. The vet told us she needed to be separated to prevent things from getting worse. I offered to take her home just to watch her but after one night with her, we knew she was meant to be ours.
