Shikaku was the BEST parent in Naruto. Unlike everyone else’s parents who explicitly discouraged their kids from interacting with Naruto, Shikaku let Shikamaru make that choice on his own. Them this scene here (arguably better in sub but still S-tier) I truly believe he was the only parent to actually parent and understand his child.
