The whole arena was designed and modelled in 3D, so the physical objects and lighting blend in perfect synchronisation with what's been shown on the screen and you can't tell where the arena ends and the screen begins, very clever.

They are not holograms by the way. It’s just a huge high resolution LED screen. But the effect is incredible.
