People say stuff along these lines pretty often. That AI is fine to be used by artists when it's for tedious tasks that will save them time but they usually don't give an example of a tedious task. I think that parts of art that seem very inconsequential can make or break that piece of art. if I was writing a novel and I just used ai to write a few parts that were boring to write for me then thar novel would certainly be worse. if I saw a piece of art and they ai generated say the fine details of some jewelry I think that would take away from the enjoyment because you have 95% of the piece made by the artist and 5% made by this technology thar just generates the average of human creativity.

all modern art made by humans is recycled and inspired by other artists, no such thing as "adding their own twist" - every style possible has been drawn. Even artists like Picasso, you can find people who have drawn very similarly before him like cezanne, AI is doing the same thing

Whilst I agree with most of this video, I disagree with the opening line. Most of what artists do doesn’t require originality. If I’m making an anime and need something to animate a sequence, ai can theoretically do that just as well as (and faster than) a team of artists

i really dont care about ai, but i get so annoyed when i see ppl commenting on literally any ai generated drawing that its "ai slop" 😭 when something looks good its not slop just cause its made by ai, human made drawings can also be slop, its so cringe to just call all ai art slop for no reason

Artists as professionals need the "easy" gigs to make a living and get experience to get up to the level of being very high-level and innovative. When AI is good enough to do all the lower-level work, you will end up getting much less of the innovative and high-level work. Not just art is affected by AI in this same way, many other fields like writing, coding, design, etc.

As artist I wanna incorporate AI in my work so bad but is afraid ppl would call my whole piece a slop even if its 1% AI. Art still mostly exists to invoke feelings, ppl lose the feelings from it knce they know it’s partly AI is not their fault.

I spent probably hundreds of hours figuring out local ai generation, the only real issue i see from my generations is the hands, hands usually need to be fixed, which if youre doing locally can be done easy, just select the area like the photoshop selector tool and reprompt it to regenerate that selection and usually it fixes things. The more useful thing is making a new transparent layer and drawing on it and then ai generating on top of it, so the generation follows the drawing. You’re generalising by only knowing the surface level of ai image generation, things like chatgpt etc for example googles nano banana image editor is pretty amazing, its an editor but it still ai generates and it looks seamless
