Angello :
Yup, been saying that the whole time I was late for work by some minutes, it was a very stressful job where I was doing the work of a whole department, taking overseas calls out of my regular hours and doing a lot of “off the clock” work, my manager knew this, but he even had the guts to threat me with a memo for lateness if I did not change, I tried my best to get to work on time. Long story short, a couple of months later my mom got a terminal cancer diagnosis and I just could not concentrate at work, I requested some time off for clarity and to take care of my moms doctors appointments, but did not get the time off approved, so weeks later the HR “team” just sent me a termination letter while I was suffering just to see my moms health deteriorating, the manager did not care to call me or talk to me to see how I was doing. Thankfully, I got a much better job now, but I just kept on thinking, would me showing up on time every day would have made things any different? NO. I’d have received that termination letter anyway since we do not have control of a lot of life events that happen to us or to our loved ones. So, yes, mistakes don’t really matter, all that really matters is your health, your family and loved ones, nothing is really as important as some people may want to make you think they are.
