@thereptilezoo: I get to see a lot of interesting things in my line of work. I have the dream job of working with cool animals every single day 🦎. Be they monitors, snakes, or alligators, I get to handle and work with some of nature's craziest animals. But some animals are crazier than others, like this one here. Pied alligators have a unique genetic mutation that results in partial albinism, but because of the small blotches of pigment along their bodies, they are not true albinos 🐊. One really fascinating thing about pied gators is that their patchy coloring actually gives them better camouflage than fully albino alligators, which means they have higher survival odds in the wild. They also have incredibly unique patterns, and the one I handled today even has blue eyes, which is extremely rare and absolutely beautiful 🤩
