I don't know if it helps, but the feast that Thanksgiving is based on was actually an indigenous celebration of a bountiful harvest. which is something that many cultures celebrate back into and predating even the pagan holidays. I feel like a bountiful harvest has a different meaning for those of us who don't farm or hunt or gather, but could easily be co-opted for lack of a better word into celebrating achievements and accomplishments throughout the year as a family. just my two cents.

I believe until White Americans deal with the Racism, Sexism and Bigotry that our country has been steeped in, we will not do better, we will just keep rolling around avoidance circles, vulnerable to Fascist Rhetoric and propaganda . Good for you for talking about it!

My biggest Thanksgiving memory is Tom giving me a deviled egg (because I was "the deviled egg connoisseur") the day before asking why they tasted weird and it was because he used miracle whip and nothing salty in it. They were so sweet. 😭🤣 The Thanksgivings with my family were always chaotic or just not celebrated.
