Full transparency: I have two credit cards maxed out and 3 more dogs rescued today. It was either leave the dogs in a kennel in 94° weather or own my title as a legitimate animal rescue. I’m 42k in credit card debt and I’m responsible for it regardless if the non profit can pay it. I know this is temporary because God always makes a way in the middle of the storm when we are obedient but I can’t even quit if I wanted to. Nobody in TX wants these dogs. Sacrifices behind-the-scenes part of rescue that don’t make it online often because it’s embarrassing and too time consuming to explain. How to get help then? No one that is not a vet or animal rescuer or full time foster will ever understand the sacrifices we go through for every single dog we rescue. For rescuers everywhere, every bag of dog food, every donation, and every volunteer hour means the world. At the end of the day, their full bellies always come before ours. To all the rescuers making quiet sacrifices every single day — you are seen, you are valued, and you are the reason so many animals are alive today. 💛 If you know animal rescue is your calling and nothing more fills your heart and soul than a rescue day….I understand you. I wish someone was there to bring you food…I wish someone was there to drive you to the vet and feed store so you can nurture your new rescue….I wish that someone else could fundraise and tell everyone thank you while you poop scoop or vice versa. I understand you and I wish more people were kind and did not shame us when we finally put ourselves first. We shouldn’t feel guilt or shame. I feel your pain. Let’s transform this pain into compassion and the same level of care we give to these dogs when we put them before ourselves. We have to find a way! OTG needs dog food if anyone can help.
