I suggest you do a bit of research on the topic the answer is right there! It’s a shame how little we know about our own history perhaps that’s exactly why we keep failing to learn from it! Just like Egyptians trace their roots to the Pharaohs, Iraqis to the Babylonians, Iranians to the Persians, Lebanese people are the descendants of the Phoenicians. That’s not hearsay, it’s a documented fact. The Phoenicians didn’t come from anywhere else they were the original inhabitants of the Levant area, and we are their descendants. During the Ottoman occupation, our ancestors were forced to adopt either Turkish or Arabic. They chose Arabic, but the Arabic we speak is all mixed with Syriac our original language. From our monuments, traditions, and cuisine to the names of our regions, every part of Lebanon reflects our true heritage. This is not a stance against Arabs it’s simply an acknowledgment of an identity that has been repressed and denied for far too long. This is simply who we are! dunno why we keep denying it!

Phoenicians are Canaanites who are in fact Arab. I think it came from the French mandate that convinced the Christians that they’re different from the rest considering the majority of Muslims in Lebanon are of Arab origin

اساسا اللغة العربية من العائلة الافرآسيويه بدات بين مصر و السودان وبعدها انتقلت لشام و تطورت هناك و كانت لغة بدو الشام و بعدها انتقلت لشبه الجزيرة العربية عبر الحجاز الى اليمن و هناك تطورت اللغه العربية الي نعرفها اليوم

دول الشام والعراق حتى لو كان الاصل مب عرب لكن كلهم ساميين واللغه تتشابه جداً والعرق واحد والفينيقيين والكنعانيين اصلهم من شرق الجزيره العربيه وقديما ايام التجاره العرب اللي يروحون للشام للتجاره قبل الاسلام كانوا يفهمون بعض واللغات زي السريانيه والسومريه اشبه بلهجه عربيه من لغه منفصله
