This is absolutely a fair assessment. I would say in terms of professional associations, definitely as life responsibilities and cost-of-living increase but the pay does not you will see changes in involvement. People become involved in a professional organization sometimes early and then as life progresses they may drop membership as other things become financially eminent. But you are absolutely right if less people are involved that means less time, resources, and money, which means professional organizations will become weaker. When it comes down to it, if you do not have any involvement whatsoever in your professional organization, you really cannot complain about anything they do or don’t do.💯
