England used to be full of wolves but in the 1300’s the Last Wolf of England was killed. One story suggests it was a wolf in Cumbria that ran from Humphrey Head where she was found, all the way to the Coniston Fells and back again. A hunter called John Harrington was said to be the man who took that final wolf after years of bounties on their heads by the Crown. We should learn from this sad story as I see it happening all over the world right now. Wolves are ‘hunted’ as their forests shrink with logging and cattle grazing. Tonight is my documentary ‘The Last Wolf of England’ on YouTube channel Animal Watch. I travel to Humphrey Head in Cumbria and walk in the pawprints of the last wolf of England 🐺 The documentary features my Czechoslovakian Wolfdog Kumi who plays the part of the last wolf 🖤 Thankyou to @itseriksen for his beautiful European wolfdog footage.
