@minibiota: 3D printed parts makes the ecosystem possible to build Design has shaped almost every step of building miniBIOTA. Being able to print custom parts has kept the project clean as it grows and it allows each piece to fit the system instead of forcing the system to match prebuilt hardware. Everything from the light fixtures to the tank connectors to the wave system uses printed parts, and now that approach has moved into the electronics. I designed a simple housing for the sensor screen that hides the wiring and snaps neatly together, and this is only the first piece. Each biome will eventually have its own printed layout that keeps the system organized as it becomes fully closed. #minibiota #3dprinting #ecosystem #designbuild #engineering
