Wow, we have a similar soup here in Indonesia called Sayur Asem (which literally translates to sour veggies lol). Everything is pretty much the same but we don't use pork or any kind of meat.

Fun fact: the "impurities" are actually just proteins. Many people remove them for aesthetic purposes, but they're fully edible and if you boil the broth long enough, most of them dissolve.
