I’m a byu fan. This is the correct take. They are getting their first round in the big 12 championship. If they can’t win that game, what’s the point of continuing? I’m not in it for the pageant. Let’s go get a championship.

Here’s the problem, I like your take just missing one thing… I don’t believe you should have to face the same team in a conference championship game and be penalized for playing them again if they lose. They already played, and now we will mostly likely lose to a top 5 team and be penalized from making CFP

Here’s the thing, byu players see it as “take control of your own destiny” and that’s what they plan on doing to get in. But the disrespect remains. The fact is, Indiana, Oregon, ND and Miami would all be 3-4 loss teams in this years big12. It’s a stacked conference from top to bottom.

BYU Alumni here. I agree 100%. We need to stop playing the victim card. We are in a good position. Have to handle UCF. Go to Big XII Champ game and win. Then in the CFP. I understand that we want to be respected. But respect must be earned. Beat Tech…..we then deserve the spot.

I will say this though, and I would guess a lot of cougar nation feels similarly, YES we feel disrespected, BUT the fact that our football team is sniffing at the top 10 two years in a row is beyond exciting.

BYU has a better loss than every 1 loss team except Ole Miss. BYU has the #6 SoR, and #27 SoS which is higher than most of the teams currently ranked ahead of them. they have a top 15 win. they shouldn't be ranked behind any 2 loss team.

All those teams that you mentioned have more losses so of course they wish they were in BYU’s position. The thing that annoys byu fans is the teams ahead of byu that didn’t have to win to be in the playoffs. They didn’t have to win in the regular season and they didn’t have to win their conference championship or even make it to one
