I think it’s because she wasn’t considered a traditional Hollywood of beauty.

she may have didn’t hit it off with the movies, but in television she sky-rocketed! In 1956 Billboard said The Rosemary Clooney Show was the biggest hit in the variety show category

It's too bad because white christmas is one of my favorite movies and she was awesome in it. she honestly I think had star power... It's too bad that people made decisions then the way they did and you are stuck in a contract.

Hey :
Fun fact: her nephew was the president of my university. We all begged for George to make an appearance because we needed something fun to happen

I love that camel sweater set with matching jacket and purse. My favorite thing in older films are usually the clothing. 🥰

She was an exceptional talent. It’s sad more people didn’t acknowledge that.

Doris and Frank were the exceptions. Most singers didn’t click as movie stars. What happened to Rosemary happened to Dinah Shore in the ‘40s. Huge singing star never given a real chance to lead a film though she was plenty charming and talented. Same with Perry Como who is affable and fun in the few films that he made.

If you think about there’s plenty of singers who try to transition to movies and it doesn’t work out

I feel like I've seen her modern day doppelganger but I can't put my finger on who it is, I think it's a tiktoker

I met her once when I was a kid... My Dad worked at a store in the town she lived in and she'd stop in periodically, and we happened to be there visiting when she came in!
I was VERY young, but I remember her laughing because I called her "Christmas Lady", and she did have very pretty blue eyes that twinkled.

my grandma loved her when she was a kid. she says she wasnt seen as beautiful, but my grandma thought she was the most beautiful woman ever, and her voice was so amazing, she just fell in love. I was raised on her music and movies because of my grandma, and she really was an amazing talent.
