@uncovermore: The coolest exhibit in NYC right now is made of thread 🪡 There is a new immersive exhibit in Chelsea featuring work by Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota In ‘Echoes Between’, Shiota invites you to walk through her renowned web-like installations at Templon in Chelsea. 🧶 Chiharu Shiota, born in Osaka in 1972, is a Japanese artist renowned for her monumental installations using interlacing wool yarn. Now based in Berlin, Shiota’s work often envelops everyday objects, creating immersive experiences that explore themes of memory, temporality, and dreams. 🪡 Around two chairs, thousands of luminous threads form a radiant cloud, like a shower of living particles, evoking a continuous dialogue between the real and the imaginary. 🧶 In The Soul’s Journey, Shiota saturates the space with red threads, creating an immersion into the depths of consciousness. She also presents thread-filled boxes, alongside her Infinite Lines – canvas works that transform the web into a sensitive surface, as if it were skin itself. 🪡 ‘Echos Between’ runs concurrently with Shiota’s acclaimed exhibition ‘Two Home Countries’ at the Japan Society New York. Check out our page for a look at that exhibit as well! 🗓️ Visit now through January 22. Have you seen Shiota’s work before in person? We have shared her exhibits a few times this past year, from NYC to Boston to Paris Tag someone who would like to see this exhibit in NYC! #nycart #nyclife #nycthingstodo #nycrecs #artlife
