Greed. We all know airless tires have been held back by greed.

Great idea, but if the car stays parked too long, the airless tire might deform since the weight sits on the internal supports. Extreme heat can also soften the rubber, so is it possible?

Money is why airless tires last way longer so you wouldn't need to buy new tires as often. Tire companies would make less money and we all know how greedy corporations are

A quick google says they can have performance issues in ice and snow, specifically ice and snow damming in the gaps. So while it has its uses, it's not good for winter applications.

Drawbacks of airless tires include a harsher, less comfortable ride, higher costs, and lower fuel efficiency due to increased rolling resistance and weight. They can also generate more road noise and are less effective at dissipating heat, which can impact durability at high speeds.

Maybe because it’s $750 a tire and they last 50-100k miles. Most tires are around $100 and last around 40k miles. While a great idea not really affordable. They’d need to last around 160k miles to make them as affordable as regular tires.

Since the tire is flat at the bottom, and not round like tyres with air, I imagine it consumes a whole lot more fuel/electricity, like a not fully aired tyre does.
