As a Gen X I can honestly say I knew this song way before Napoleon dynamite. It definitely didn’t blow up then - I mean maybe it had a resurgence but back in the 80s this song was huge and weirdly very big at school dances.

They’re 2 very different songs bruh. Rod Stewart came out in 1988 and was cowritten by Bob Dylan. It was from the movie Chances Are. Alphaville’s Forever young came out in 1984. 2 totally different songs.

I dunno.. I'd say Jay Z's version blew the song up much more than Napoleon Dynamite.. Just saying..

They’re two different songs with the same title. You shouldn’t make any more videos for at least two weeks.

Rod Stewart's song isn't a version of this song .. doesn't have the same music or energy or words except for "forever young" . that's just like saying Bruno Mars song "when I was your man" and Miley Cyrus's "Flowers" song are two different versions just because they both have the words "flowers" although her song is a response to his song... but Rod Stewart song has absolutely no connection to this song.

The Rod Stewart song is not another version. it's a totally different song that just happens to have the same name.
