since historically this sounds nuts, a lot of people are missing the point. he's saying that for every 100 energy units spend you should get a 100 energy units recovery, every day. you cant recover 5 days of energy spending by resting only 2 days. rest and recovery should be a daily thing not a weekend thing.

This is idiotic. In the UK unions forced weekends because they were already being worked daily.

it's an ahistorical take and the dumbest way possible to present the situation, especially if your point is we need more rest....
The weekend was not "invented to work people through the bone the rest of the week" it was won by labor movements against people who wanted to work people 6-7 days a week.
our resting periods were not "granted as a scrap" from our exploiters, they were taken by collective organization. same for paid vacations.

The weekend isn’t a real thing only 9/5 workers do weekends. Us succesful people are grinding on Saturday and Sunday as well with me streamint all 7 days of the week

The message behind all this is good but it does sound completely ignorant of the fact that the weekend was won by the labor movement. I'm sure he knows better, it was just phrased poorly. Because the weekend can't be a worse invention than 16-hour days everyday.

Medieval serfs worked the same or fewer hours than us btw, and far, far fewer weeks of the year.

Ok, yes, but no. Not the weekend. We have had at least a 1 day weekend since forever. What you describe is that we invented work hours. Before those, people «were» their job. Which had its ups and downs. Great system unless you had an exploitive boss. But with factories, exploitive bosses became the standard, which in turn led to us demanding fixed work hours. Which in turn gave all bosses permission to exploit their employees within those hours.

people died to earn weekends because they were getting treated this way 7 days a week.

I though the weekend was good, otherwise companies would make you work 7 days a week

The original 9 to 5 comes from the Industrial Revolution when workers negotiated their maximum hours. It’s an old concept that is heavily outdated and heavily favours employers. Same with minimum wages btw. The deck is stacked against workers, workers in any field.

they don't work you because there is a weekend, they would gladly work you as hard even in those days if not for the labor laws.
