@ssshpresa: A place of physical evidence of the genocide of Albanians in Kosovo— where grief, history, and pride intertwine. in 1998 Serbian forces surrounded and attacked the Jashari home killing over 50 family members including women and children. Adem Jashari and his brother Hamez known as leaders of the Albanian Liberation Army were among the victims. This massacre was the Serbians attempt at crushing not only the Jashari family, but the UÇK independence movement. The Jasharis motivation to fight back transformed this into symbols of sacrifice, that they would rather die for their freedom than surrender. Today their home, bullet holes and all, serves as a memorial of their sacrifice for the freedom of Albanians as well as testament of Albanian will for liberty. #albanian #uçk #ademjashari #dragpath #History
