@tilscience: Science just said our brain isn’t done being a teenager until you’re 32. This explains a LOT. Speaking for myself 😆 Cambridge researchers mapped brain development across 4,000 people from newborns to 90-year-olds and found that your brain’s adolescent phase doesn’t end until your early thirties. Before that? Your brain is in its longest developmental phase refining, pruning, strengthening connections, trying to make all the regions work together efficiently. And then at 32, things shift. Intelligence and personality development level off. You become more you, for better or worse. So if you’re in your twenties feeling like you should have it all figured out? Your brain is literally still in its adolescent phase. You’ve got time. Full breakdown in the video including why certain conditions emerge at specific ages and what happens at 66 and 83. 4k seems kinda small for a study like this. does this study take in account those that are neurodivergent, mental health issues, or genetic issues?

How did they take education into account? Doesn't it make sense that while we're in school, we're bound to increase development? Wouldn't a 40 or 50-year-old who went back to college have similar results as 20 and 30-year-olds?

I think this explains why a lot of people are getting diagnosed neurodivergence in their 30s and 40s if that’s a time or we’re supposed to have rapid pruning of our synapses and autism and ADHD have been shown to be caused by a lack of that pruning

As a 42 year old, who is thinking 20-somethings have life figured out? Plenty of people older than me now who haven’t got a clue

It was 24 when I went to college a year ago, now it's 32. Science is amazing, it literally is constantly developing and growing.👍

My friend used to say "the baby brain falls out at puberty and doesn't regrow until about 30." Accurate.

Definitely still feel like a bit of a teenager. It’s like 50/50. I feel like a teen but also an adult, and since my maternal grandmother/last grandparent passed I have felt like more of an adult or at least felt like that was the official end of my childhood. And that happened when I was 29 I believe

also, for the record, unless you're a blessed person with a ton of handicaps and helpers in your life. Starting from the ground up, its totally normal to be just getting good at how to live in your 30s. dont compare yourself to the luckiest.

at 43 I want my teenager body back but agree my brain is just getting to my EQ era. I am growing into my "elder" vibes.

I feel like I'm still in my adolescent age, but at 63, the study suggests I should be looking forward to cognitive decline. That's a bummer.

all this makes sense. they've always said you need to learn a language before adolescence to make you truly fluent and not just be learning a second language. also my anxiety and OCD really took off in high school, I've been doing therapy since I was 29 and it's effective. According to this data I did it just in time too 😄👏

Question? I guess I am my own study, but what if that was the time you suffered a lot of trauma, from 8 to 30? Is that why I can't function like a normal person. My nervous system is f up 🥺🥺🥺 also ADHD but damn
